How to cut up a whole chicken-made easy

If you hadn’t noticed me banging my drum, I have recently created my own YouTube Channel. I’ve now added another video showing how to cut up a whole chicken. This is a simple skill to learn but gives you a lot more options when it comes to chicken dishes and will also save you money.

Most people think it is too difficult but let me show you how easy it is to learn this skill. The method I talk you through is the simplest way to remove the legs and breasts from the chicken. I also walk you through the different options cutting up a chicken gives you.

I chose not to over complicate the demonstration, nor did I wish to use an expensive free-range chicken but rather a standard supermarket chicken, particularly during this pandemic when budgets are tight. You can watch my video right here or go to YouTube. I’d really appreciate some feedback from my readers, thanks.

I hope you will take a few minutes to watch and like my video and don’t forget to subscribe and leave a comment.

    1. Always good to hear from you Noelle, your story about you husband’s butchery skills reminded me of your short story entitled “There’s a penis in my pocket” And brought to mind a similar prank I saw as a culinary student. A couple of my friends thought it would be funny to take a raw turkey neck and hang it to the front of their chef’s trousers. After chasing a couple female students, down the hall, with this threatening appendage, they ran straight into a visiting female politician who was not amused.

  1. My grandmother always cooked a whole chicken, head and foot, from her yard. Inside the chicken were small eggs and offal. His hens ate only wheat and bran. The chicken was cooked, after filling it with a special filling, in the broth and it was the best thing I have eaten in my entire life. No chef in the world could reproduce that recipe because the hens of today are raised very differently and their meat tastes bad. But only those who have eaten an ancient chicken in their life can tell the difference. 😊
